A taste of Hong Kong & China in Belgium

I

f you are in Brussels and feel like eating some authentic Chinese food, check out Hong Kong Delight. In the middle of the “mini-Chinatown” of the Dansaert neighbourhood (click here for our Dansaert walk).

They have a pretty standard (Belgian) Chinese restaurant menu, but under their specialities section they list some truly authentic dishes. We never fail to pick the eggplant with minced pork claypot which transports us straight back to China.

If you are in Antwerp, have a look at Fong Mei for the best dim sum. After a few steaming baskets you feel like you are in Hong Kong. And you can let yourself go, because tiny bites are only tiny sins, no?

In the same neighbourhood you can find the best Sichuan style restaurant Ni Shifu, one of our all time favorites. Everything on the menu is delicious, but Maarten heads here especially for the Ma Po Tofu.

If you think we are sending you to all these strange little restaurants on purpose. Rest assured, while the dining area might not always seem the cleanest or the most trendy, in real Chinese restaurants they prepare their food with great care. So don’t worry you don’t have to visit the Antwerp Institute of Tropical Diseases before you can eat here.
